Farrah & Yadh | Persian wedding at Fort Lovrijenac, Dubrovnik

Over the past year Dubrovnik kinda turned into a second hometown. We’ve been there countless times and thought we’ve covered all wedding venues in Dubrovnik. But – no. This one that we’re showing here, turns out to be quite special.

Farrah & Yadh had a traditional Persian ceremony in Dubrovnik’s Sponza Palace. Between a wall of flowers and a traditionally set table, full of symbolism – they promised each other to love and to hold forever. It was a special treat to have been a part of it.
In the Persian ceremony “Sofreyeh Aghd”, there are many symbolic items which make up the sofreh aghd spread, all in which represent an element of the couple’s new life together. The word “sofreh” means “spread” and “aghd” means “ceremony”.
For example, needle and thread symbolize the ritual of two people becoming one. Or sugar grinding over the couple’s head to shower their life and marriage with sweetness. The mirror represents bringing light and brightness into the future for the married couple. And so much more – I just love the symbolics and how poetic it is.

The location they chose for their dinner and party is simply stunning. St. Lawrence Fortress / Fort Lovrijenac proudly sits on its steep cliffs, 37 meters in height. The fort has become one of the most dignified & beautiful stages of the world. Having a wedding at St. Lawrence Fortress is like a fairy tale in real life. Shooting a wedding there was an absolute thrill!

The wedding afterparty took place at another breathtaking location in Dubrovnik – Villa Sheherezade.

Thank You, Farrah & Yadh!
