There’s something magical about witnessing two worlds collide. As my husband and I arrived at the historic Villa Regina Teodolinda on the shores of Lake Como, we knew this intimate celebration would tell a story all its own – a Highland couple choosing Italy’s most romantic lake for their special day.
When Gracie & Josh first told me about their day – they emphasised one thing above all else: they wanted their wedding captured authentically, with no posed portraits or interruptions. Just pure, unfiltered moments as they unfolded. This documentary approach is something I deeply cherish as a photographer—the art of disappearing into the background while still capturing the soul of the day.
The villa, with its timeless elegance and panoramic lake views, provided the perfect backdrop for their vision. The centuries-old stone walls and lush gardens seemed to whisper stories of celebrations past, now adding this intimate gathering to its rich history.
What made this wedding particularly special was its intentional intimacy. Surrounded by only their closest family and friends, every person present held deep significance in their lives. And at the center of it all was little Teddy, their baby boy, experiencing his parents’ celebration with wide-eyed wonder.
As photographers, we often witness the beautiful chaos of large weddings, but there’s something uniquely touching about these smaller gatherings where every interaction carries weight and meaning.
